Prntyr Documents
Build newsletters, flyers, handouts & more
Tablet of content
Getting there
Go to Prntyr > Click Documents in the top menu bar.
To start from a ready-made layout instead of a blank page, go to Designs → Documents and open a template.
The left toolbar
Everything you can add to a page lives in the icon rail down the left side. Click an icon to open its panel; click the X to close it.
Text
Four ways to add words to the page:
- Header - large title text
- Text - a plain text box
- Rich text - a text box with fuller formatting
- Date - a date field
Elements
Structural pieces:
- Bullet list
- Divider line
- Table
- Icons
Images
- Add image - places a picture on the page
- Background image - fills the whole page behind everything else. Pick one with Open media library, or Choose image file to upload from your computer. Set Fill mode to control how it fits, and drag the Fade behind text slider to lighten the image so your words stay readable. Remove background image clears it.
- Fading the background is the single most useful setting here. A photo at full strength almost always swallows the text on top of it.
Border
Select something on the page first, then open Border to put an outline around it. Borders work on any item - text, an image, a table.
Shape adds a bordered shape with no fill, which makes a frame you can drop other items inside.
Content
Pulls live information from Speak2 straight onto the page, so you're not retyping it:
- Menu
- Calendar
- Messages
- Birthdays
- Res Spotlight
- Staff Spotlight
AI Speaky
Generates written content for you. See the section below.
Templates
Shows your saved document templates with a Create document button, plus your Quick Print templates. Each card lists its page count and dimensions (a standard letter page is 816 × 1056), with Edit and Delete buttons.
PDFs
Your archive of generated PDFs. Set a date range, click Apply, and switch between grid views to find a PDF you made earlier.
The top toolbar
Select an item on the page and the toolbar above the canvas becomes active. From left to right you'll find font family (Lato by default), font size with – and + buttons and a typed field, text color, bold, italic, alignment, bulleted and numbered lists, underline, undo and redo, copy and duplicate, and layering and alignment tools.
If your browser window is narrow, some tools are hidden - click the arrow at the right end of the toolbar to scroll through the rest.
Working with pages
The strip along the bottom shows a thumbnail of every page, with the current page marked (Page 1 of 1). The controls on the right of that strip let you:
- Add a page after this one
- Duplicate this page
- Move to the previous or next page
- Delete this page
Duplicating is the fast way to build a multi-page newsletter with a consistent look - copy the page, then swap the content.
Using AI Speaky
AI Speaky writes content you can drop straight onto the page: trivia, wellness tips, short stories, jokes, recipes.
- Click AI Speaky in the left rail.
- Stay on the Generate content tab.
- Pick a target audience - 55+, 65+, Assisted Living, Independent Living, Rehabilitation, Aging In Place, Caregivers, Professional Caregivers, Families, Administrators, Adult Children, Grandchildren, Children, or Adults.
- Pick a category - Seasons, Holiday, Puzzles, Quiz, Recipe, Trivia, Top 5, Wellness Tips, Quotes, Crafts, Scripture, Jokes, Heartwarming, and more.
- Type what you want in Your prompt - for example, "Five easy chair exercises residents can do before lunch."
- Click Add to canvas → to place the result on your page.
Anything you generate is kept under the Saved content tab, so you can reuse it later without spending another prompt.
You get five prompts. The counter above the prompt box shows how many you've used. Be specific the first time rather than generating five near-identical versions.
Saving and sharing
- Save - keeps your work. Get in the habit of saving after each major change rather than at the very end.
- Share - sends the document to others.
Tips
- Set your background image before you add text. Adding it later pushes text around and means redoing your layout.
- Use Content blocks instead of retyping. Pulling the menu or the birthday list from Speak2 means the flyer matches what residents see everywhere else, and one less place for a typo.
- Save your finished layout as a template. Next month you'll only be changing the words.
If something looks wrong
Text disappeared behind an image. Select the text and use the layering tools in the top toolbar to bring it forward.
Your text is hard to read over a photo. Open Images and raise the Fade behind text slider.
A tool is missing from the toolbar. Click the arrow at the right end of the toolbar to scroll, or widen your browser window.
You can't find a PDF you made. Open the PDFs panel and widen the date range - it defaults to today only.
