How to make a call on Alexa
Say, "Alexa, call CONTACT NAME."
Alexa will ring and say the contact name when receiving a call. To answer a call, say "Alexa, answer" or click the green answer button.
To ignore a call, say "Alexa, decline" or ignore the call.
Add contacts before making a call. You can only call numbers that have been added to their Alexa Address Book.

Helping residents with their first calls
We encourage staff to assist residents with their first use of Alexa as their phone. Most communities are set up with their front desk programmed in as a contact. It is a good first call to make since calling front desk with Alexa has added benefits and gives the resident a sense of comfort.

Can Alexa call 911?
No, Alexa cannot call 911. We encourage to teach residents to call the Front Desk.
Can Alexa call international numbers?
No, Alexa can only call landlines and cellphones in the US. Alexa cannot call extension numbers.
Who can call the Alexa?
Only contacts added to the Alexa can be reached. If the contact has not been added to the resident record or community app, they cannot make or receive calls.
How do I turn off video calls? 
If you don't want to make video calls, you can pull the shutter on your Alexa Show. It will cover your camera.
Can Alexa receive any voicemails?
No, due to the privacy and security components, Alexa cannot receive voicemails.
Will missed calls show on my Alexa?
No, missed calls will not show on Alexa. We encourage contacts to leave messages if no one picks up.
Can the Alexa do drop in?
No, Alexa cannot do drop in. All calls must be answered by the device either through voice or pressing the answer button on the screen.
Can Alexa call extension numbers?
No, Alexa cannot call extension numbers.
Why does the number show as a random number when calling from Alexa?
The Resident Apartment number will display when you are using the Speak2 Community app or the Alexa App. A random generated number will display when calling a landline or if the Alexa App is not set up.
