It's often a quick note about the resident, for example, if you have permission to enter their apartment or if they have a cat.

Closing requests

Close the request on the staff app by clicking the X icon

Close the request!!!! Click the X button.

The request will stay open and look like no one has helped or completed this task.

Reopen requests

If you need to reopen a request because you can no longer take it, click the gray minus button. It will re-open the request, and a notification will go out to all staff again on their phones.

Schedule requests

Add the event to your calendar for a later time or date.

  1. Accept the request
  2. Click the calendar button.
  3. Click Schedule
  4. Click Send.

Click the video icon to call the Alexa. The resident will have to say, "Alexa, answer." You can ask what they need or let them know you're on your way.

Reassign requests - The Hidden Gem - Convert to Order

Sometimes residents will use Alexa to ask for help, but the request being made is actually something for another department, or needs to be scheduled as an "order". Below is how to handle this in the staff app.

  1. If you long-hold the request header where the department color is displayed, a "Convert request" button will appear.
  2. Tap this and you can assign this request to another department.
  3. This will move the request from a general or care request to whatever department you have chosen, and only staff assigned to that department will see it.
  4. Note, the "Convert to order" only works for request that have been made via Alexa.

Create requests

  1. Click the bell icon top left corner
  2. Select the resident
  3. Select the department
  4. Select the service, enter details and click submit

Make sure Push Notifications are turned on! Enabling notifications allows you to receive an alert for a new request.
