Kiosk

Residents, staff or visitors can check in and check out of a community.

You can turn on our Alexa kiosk skill to check people in and out of your community. The kiosk can ask up to 5 questions. Three questions are free-form, and two questions are yes/no questions. 

To turn the Kiosk feature on for your community, speak with your community liaison so Speak2 can turn it on for you.

Create your Kiosk Questions

  1. Click "Kiosk" under the Wrench icon in the top right corner.
  2. Add your questions. Turn the toggle on/off if you want to present this question. 
  3. Hit submit. 

Using the Kiosk skill

You can use the following steps to use the Kiosk skill. Download the PDF for printable instructions.

          1. “Alexa, visiting community”
    • Alexa will say "Thanks for signing in, who would you like to see, you can select an option, resident, staff or other."
    • You say your choice, or choose the option on screen
    2. Alexa will say "Which resident" or “Which Staff” based on your choice. If you chose Resident or Staff, you will be presented a list of names that you can choose by tapping on the screen.
  • 3. Alexa will ask: “What is your name?”
    • Say your name.
    4. Alexa will ask: “How long do you think you’ll be visiting”
    • Let Alexa know how long you plan to be onsite.
    5. If you have any custom questions, they will be asked here.
  • 6. Alexa will say “Thank you, name, I have checked you in to visit “name” for approximately “time”.
  • 7. You will be asked to confirm. If you do not confirm Alexa will stop and and you can start over.
    • This record is written to Notepad and to a resident or staff calendar if they were chosen during the process.
    • If a resident was marked as off premise, they will now be marked as on premise.

View Kiosk Responses

All responses are added to the community feed and can be viewed in each Resident record.

  2. Or click Reports > Resident Interactions

Simple Sign In/Out

A quick way for residents, staff and visitors to sign in and out of the community, without any questions, is to just have them use the "Entering Community" and "Sign Out".

Signing In

  • “Alexa, entering community”
    • You say, "Alexa, entering community"
    • Alexa will say "Thanks for singing in, you can say or select an option, resident, staff or other."
    • You say your choice, or choose the option on screen
  • Alexa will say "Please say or select your name". If you chose Resident or Staff, you will be presented a list of names that you can choose by tapping on the screen.
    • Say or select a name.
  • Alexa broadcasts that it is making note of “name” signing in at “time”.
  • You will be asked to confirm. If you do not confirm Alexa will stop and and you can start over.
    • This record is written to Notepad and to a resident or staff calendar if they were chosen during the process.
    • If a resident was selected, they are not marked as On Premise.

Signing Out

  • “Alexa, sign out”
    • You say, "Alexa, sign out"
    • Alexa will say "Thanks for singing out, you can select an option, resident, staff or other."
    • You say your choice, or choose the option on screen
  • Alexa will say "Please say or select your name". If you chose Resident or Staff, you will be presented a list of names that you can choose by tapping on the screen.
    • Say or select a name.
  • Alexa broadcasts that it is making note of “name” signing out at “time”.
  • You will be asked to confirm. If you do not confirm Alexa will stop and and you can start over.
