Schedule and manage any transport requests
The goal of the transportation hub is to provide aging adults with various ways to request and manage their transportation needs. The "Transport" department is set up by default in your portal. Ensure staff in the transportation department are turned on to see all transport requests from the web, app, and Alexa. All requests are delivered to the Speak2 Staff app and web.
Not sure how to assign staff to departments? Look here: Manage Staff Departments.
Make sure staff are assigned to the Transport department. They will not receive any resident transport requests if they are not assigned.
Set up Transport Requests
- Create Services in your Service Library. Click the Wrench icon top right corner > Services.
- For example, you may have a bus and car available. In this case, you might set up two services so residents can request access to either of these services.
Each service detail is defined in the initial creation. Learn more here: Manage Services
Depending on the acuity level of your residents, residents can say, "Alexa, I need help," and describe in their own words what they need. Care staff will then reassign the request to your Transport staff.
Once your services are set up, your residents can request a ride in several different ways.
"Alexa, I need a ride"
See all of the details from a resident if they use the phrase, "Alexa, I need a ride"
- Say, "Alexa, I need a ride"
- Alexa will have a dialogue with the resident about where and when they need a ride. (Where, What time, What day?"
- The request is sent to the Transport department for scheduling. NOTE: this method sends a "request" not an "order". To convert the request to an order, press and hold the request in the staff app, or convert on the web.
- Staff can either keep as is or update the details
- Check your request status by saying, "Alexa, open order status."
